The Alabama

The Alabama is a great building. Jesse the doorman is especially great. He goes way above and beyond. He knows every single resident by name, which helps make people feel at home when they step into the building. Additionally, he frequently helps with things like remembering if you have a package, navigating building dynamics (people being loud, help with landlord, etc), and other important items. Overall, great building and having Jesse adds a ton to that experience!

Dishonest and unethical management. Moved out of apartment on December 29th (it’s been nearly 3 months!) and still have not received our deposits back. They have told my roomates and I several times that they mailed it but none of us have received any check. Avoid. Will update if we ever receive checks.

Jesse is really what makes this building so special. He was the first person I met when I started looking into living in this building and the interaction with him was one of the reasons I chose to rent here. He is always professional and has become a real friend to me over the past year. Not only is Jesse great at his job, but he is genuinely just a great person. He truly goes above and beyond. For just one example out of many, one night I was trying to park my car in front of the building, but there was a large snow bank. Jesse came out and offered to help shovel so I could park there. Jesse puts a smile on my face every morning when I come down for my morning coffee and puts me in a good mood even when I am having a hard day. He is truly what makes "the Alabama" THE Alabama!

I lived at The Alabama for three years - the people working there such as Grenten, Erion, and Jesse made it a much easier and pleasant experience. Erion, the super, was always available to help. He helped us solve why our dishwasher was always leaking and helped me fix points in my walls where there were some holes. I just moved out and he helped make the whole process a lot easier. He is very quick to answer emails and calls at any time and got along well with the rest of the building staff which made it easier to get information. He and the building manager, Grenten, were very friendly and professional - they always greeted the tenants and were just generally helpful for any issues. Jesse was a really great doorman - very professional, kind, and ready to help!
