My loved one was sent this this facility following a TBI in May of 2021. He was a patient at this facility for approximately 6 weeks- during his stay there, staff helped him progress from a semi-conscious state to walking, talking, and doing some activities of daily living on his own. Specifically, Rachel from the speech therapy Dept was absolutely excellent. I believe this facility is equipped to care for patients who are semi-conscious/ non ambulatory, but once complications of a brain injury arise, this is where the care fails. My loved one began to exhibit behaviors typical of patients with traumatic brain injuries (aggression, agitation, confusion) and this is where this facility failed him. Rather than work with family to help find a facility better suited to his arising needs secondary to brain injury, he was sent back to the hospital from which he came (45 minutes away via ambulance) for “altered mental status”, even though there’s a hospital directly across the street. This is because legally, if a rehab wants to discharge a patient, they have to send them back to the facility they were admitted from. Staff at this facility KNEW that my loved one would do poorly outside of a rehabilitation facility, as staff told another friend that “we would have our hands full with him”. This premature discharge led my loved one to endure a lengthy, unnecessary two month hospital stay until family could find another facility that specializes in brain injury patients better suited to his needs. It’s shameful that instead of working to help my loved one find another placement, they wiped their hands clean of this situation and therefore his healing took a tremendous backslide. Consider these types of situations before you entrust this facility to care for your loved one.

The building is old. The compassion from everyone from the front desk receptionist, to the nurses are wonderful. It is a blessing to have compassion. A lot of facilities lack just that.

The physical therapy is all they have to offer that is great, other than that management is rude , CNA’s are careless of residents and the atmosphere is horrible. This place just cares about money and care less about the residents. Most of the people working there show favoritism and its really hard to go up in positions.

I’m a huge fan of this place, the care is what makes or breaks a place for me. I stopped looking at things like chandeliers and pig lipstick a long time ago. If the care ain’t good it ain’t good end of story people. Let me tell you something, the care here is wonderful! The staff across the discipline spectrum are wonderful. It’s not often you see a place doing such a good job for its patients but this place is doing great, hooray for them!

I give this nursing home 1 Star only because of location, this nursing home has been upgraded in appearance but it needs to be upgraded in staff, the service provided is horrible, my grandmother developed stage 3 bed sores and sepsis bc of a feeding tube that was never maintained properly, what’s so hard of saying hello to family, everybody walks around with a sour face, it’s just sad that people depend on these locations for proper care, instead our family members are at risk, as a family we decided to pull out our grandmother to a different nursing home and you can see the difference and effectiveness the new location has. People research, inquire ask questions before placing any family member in this location, if you want the best care for your loved one’s this isn’t the place.
