West Lawrence Care Center

My family recently had the pleasure of utilizing this facility for our brother who needed long term care for a stroke he suffered a month ago. Thank you to Pattie Cunningham for making all his paperwork easy for us to manage and all aspects of his stay pleasurable and professional. A great big thank you to Melissa his outstanding Social Worker as well all the great staff on the Sixth floor. What a wonderful facility, we would highly recommend. Thank you so much to all the great people at West Lawrence!!! My Uncle has severe dementia and needs 24/7 care. He was transferred there about a year ago from a horrible nursing home in Suffolk County. Although West Lawrence is far away for family members to visit, we couldn't be happier with the care and compassion he receives there. The staff all know him and say "hello" to him in the hallways and dining room. The medical care has been great, the doctor there has fine-tuned his meds several times (all with our consent) so he has become less anxious and has the same demeanor as before the dementia. He's upbeat and happy to talk, (not "zonked-out"). They check-in with us to report any changes, and he was admitted to Flushing Hospital where he needed an internal surgery recently. The staff is really great there. They smile, are very friendly and seem to enjoy working there. They put together a little birthday party for us which my uncle really enjoyed. Whenever we visit, even without an appointment, he is always clean and well dressed. We all sleep better knowing that the people there really care for him. The only negative thing I can say is that the place could use a few million dollars renovation, but even so it's always clean there so I do not wish to give up a "star" on this review for that reason. The people who work there excel far beyond the looks of the place. If you're on the fence about who to trust with your loved one, look no further.

West Lawrence Care Center is an incredible facility. From the admissions department to social services, each department takes their time, love and care with each resident. Each resident is treated like family. If you or your loved ones are looking for a nursing home/rehabilitation center, please contact them right away! Great job West Lawrence Care Center, and a BIG thank you to Pattie Cunningham for all you do to keep the facility amazing!

Worse than a jail or maybe less to even be considered a place for any human race to be care for; shower is limited to 2x a week, no wash cloths, you're only allowed to eat whatever they gave you(kosher food only) and if you're lucky once in a blue moon, you will be allow to order fast food (McDonalds, pizza and Chinese only), but you have to eat it in one sitting while being monitored. 90% of staffs are in professional/rude. The best staffs are the two ladies at the front desk, nurse on the 4th floor Ms Sharon, the kitchen manager, Mario, Mark and that's pretty much it. Social workers are ridiculous, admission street/ghetto attitude just from the old white lady with a thug vibes. Therapy session is not equipped for nothing. TVs are old school, no regular channels. This place is a ripped off, trust me, cause I am patient here right now and you don't want to send your love ones here unless you don't care about them at all
