I have tried to like this place as much as the one in Albuquerque but I do not. The service is horrid, the prices high, food is average. It seems like no-one is managing it!

This location is slipping. $12 burger is tiny on a tiny bun. Overcooked burger. Overcooked french fries. Ice maker not working. Guy at the register actually trying to be slow, more suited to be an almost-retired clerk at the Department of Motor Vehicles. Food prep took forever and food then sat on the warmer for at least 10 minutes. Wanted to pick it up myself. Food delivery guy also slow. Not sure what's going on here. Normally good food, good service, and good value. But tonight, not a good experience.

Gluten intolerants beware: When I moved a couple of blocks from one of the Albuquerque locations last year, I was so excited. They had a couple of "gluten not" items on the menu, the dessert items in the case looked to die for, and the coffee was good. By now, the cracks have started to show. Despite the supposed attention to the gluten issue on the menu, the staff are completely in the dark about allergies. All the managers know to say is something along the lines of: "gluten not doesn't mean gluten free; there will be some contamination on the grill." It's almost like they got in front of the curve a few years ago, but then stayed put while the curve passed them by. As widespread and long-standing as the gluten issue is, they need to step it up (and train their staff). At least at the downtown Albuquerque location, the managers will take a minute to look through the ingredients list to make sure. The Santa Fe location is a disaster that way. Don't expect the staff to know which dishes contain flour (both the red and green chile, for example), and don't expect the cooks to be willing to wipe down the grill for gluten-allergic customers. Better luck at Tomasita's across the street.
