Venice Pizza & Restaurant Inc

Arrived early with a reservation, finally got seated after lengthy confusion.The restaurant was reasonably busy, but not full. Waited for over an hour to get our meals and they were terrible. Shrimp and scallops: dinky peanut size shimp that were obviousy frozen, same with scallops, bland sauce and uncooked pasta. Shrimp scampi: same shrimp problem, bland. Vegetarian pasta, yuck. No even sure what some of the "veggies" were, but they looked leftover and unpleasant. No bread with the meal, finally go some "garlic" bread that looked like leftover crusts. Would have sent it aa back, but we were already about to miss a nearby show. Service was poor, but the waitress tried hard. Problem seemed to be in the kitchen. Tettible organization. This place might be okay for pizza and a soda, but forget about getting a real meal. It wasn't particularly cheap either. By the way, serving drinks in paper cups in the "restuarant" area is pretty tacky. First and last visit for me and my family.

We ate here for the showstopper special because Guillermos was packed. Guillermos has nothing to worry about this place stealing its customers. I tend to be a very forgiving diner and understand when a restaurant is busy, but rude service on top of bad food leaves a lot to be desired. The reason this special is called the "Showstopper" is because if you ate here before the going to a show at the Pitman theater, you would miss the show because you would never get there with the abominably slow service, lack of cooperation and organization between staff working there, and pretty lousy, inconsistent food. When the waitress slapped our check on the table and said "Thanks" and ran off, we said never again. I would wait four hours to eat at Guillermos rather than waiting four minutes for a seat in this place, and another 40 minutes for our first course. Dinner took a total of two hours and it was miserable. Very disappointed.

The waiters here didn't spare any expense. There were an ample number of appetizers that made it hard to eat the main course. In addition to the well prepared bruschetta, garlic bread, and mozzarella sticks, the main course included soup, salad, and penne. Everything tasted and looked great. Plus as this was a special dinner it all took place in a backroom where we could be isolated from the more casual customer.

Service was great. Soup & bread were good. Italian dishes were awful, if you are used to the real thing. Otherwise, you might find it OK or stick to the pizza.

They lost our reservation and seated us late. We waited an exceptionally long time for our order, which was brought out one at a time for a party of four. The soup was watered down and almost tasteless. The sausage and peppers were poured over cold ziti, we could not send it back for lack of time. We had 8 pm theater tickets and 20 minutes to eat despite having a 6 pm reservation. We saw a lot of other customers having the same problems and one couple apparently found the food so bad they left most of it uneaten. This was not my first visit to this restaurant but it was definitely my last.
