We contacted this office based on a word of mouth referral and the reviews. However, I have to say I was less than pleased with the staff of the Cherry Hill office. After scheduling our first appt which was over a month out, we received a call back Id say two weeks later saying the dr will no longer be in the office that day and we needed to reschedule. Of course they didnt have anything sooner and were rude about it. I opted to schedule for Vineland instead and they did get us in almost immediately. The staff in Vineland are awesome, polite, and helpful. During the consultation I went into the back with my child and discussed everything with the dr. During that conversation I was told I would be able to be with my child during the surgery. Of course I didnt think that meant chair side in an or setting, but I was under the impression I would be able to visually see my child at all times as she would be knocked out and have no voice about what was happening to her or even know if something out of the ordinary happened. The day of our cherry hill appt I looked up the dr on google and input the address to the office that was reflected not only on google but their website as well. Upon arriving the building was empty so I called. As it turns out they moved offices roughly a year ago yet never updated the info on google. Thankfully the new office was only about 5 mins up the road. We arrived and signed in. Shortly after a blonde woman who wed never met before, and didnt introduce herself, came out and handed us some discharge instructions as well as extra gauze and to explain how long the procedure would take and some of the details. We were told that I would need to remain in the office for the entirety of the procedure and could NOT leave for ANY reason - the procedure would take 45 mins plus recovery (mind you they had no beverages complimentary or otherwise, no tissues or napkins out, the tv was off, and there were no bathrooms accessible to the waiting area). At that point I asked about going in the back with my child and she became combative and rude, telling me that cant happen. I explained what the dr and I discussed. She said she would get the dr for us to speak with. After a few minutes she returned to tell me the doctor would not be speaking with me and I would need to remain in the waiting room. Every time I tried to speak to her and say anything she would cut me off and respond not ever hearing my full statement or concern. I voiced that to her and asked that I be able to complete my sentence before she started to speak as well. She said ok and I began to speak trying to verbalize what I had understood from the consultation. She again cut me off and said she would go get the dr because he will not stand for me treating her this way. A few mins later the doctor came out into the reception area and called me to the window. I tried to nicely explain what I understood from the consult and my concerns. While he did listen he then verbalized that the blonde and him were of the same voice. That I would not be allowed in the back at any point and that this was the most unusual request he had in his 15 years of practice. I was told that it was unheard of for a parent to be in the or with their child. I again explained my side of the situation and that I was in no way asking to be chair side but just to have a visualization of my child during the procedure. At that point I just stopped and sat down bc my daughter was waiting for the surgery since August and it is now November. Her wisdom teeth are not only impacted but sideways and one had a cyst that was eroding the bone. I felt I had not other option as trying to schedule else where would result in another few months wait for a consultation and even longer for surgery. If you are a parent who is uncomfortable with sending your child off with complete strangers while they unconscious then this is absolutely not the place for you. If you are someone who likes to be treated with respect and your concerns to heard and addressed this is not the place for you.
