If I could leave zero stars, I would. This was the absolute worst real estate transaction I’ve ever been involved in. We should have known better and walked away from the beginning, when the listing photos used were dark, out of focus unprofessional photos that had the realtor in one of them — she couldn’t even be bothered to crop herself out — seriously? I’m surprised we even had people show up to the open house. You can see for yourself, check out 14 Lakewood drive in Acton ME; my 5 year old could have done a better job. Beyond that, the communication was lacking every step of the way. Not only did we have to chase our realtor Sarah for answers almost the entire way, but she went COMPLETELY MIA the week of our closing and literally left us high and dry to navigate the closing by ourselves. We had no clue whether the appraisal went through in the week leading up to the closing either and had to find out from the buyer’s agent. Calls to our realtor’s office proved fruitless, as did countless calls, texts and emails to her directly. Literally took a vacation and not only did she not tell us, but her office told us they would “have someone get in contact with her” and “get back to” us and they never did! We had to call the buyer’s realtor to find out if the closing went through and navigate getting the buyers the keys since we live out of state and were selling our vacation home. What kind of realtor goes missing the week of the closing and doesn’t get a plan in place to cover their clients or at the bare minimum, COMMUNICATE what was happening?! The cherry on top, after spending hours on the phone with the title company, the buyer’s realtor, and trying to chase down ANYONE to help us from the Hayes office, was that they screwed up the numbers when submitting the info to the title company, so we were told that we were receiving $2500 more than we were actually getting because Hayes can’t do math. The title company caught the error and called us to tell us after the fact. Entirely unprofessional and I would never recommend ANYONE use Hayes, ever. There are limited choices in such a rural area but I’m wholeheartedly convinced that literally anyone else would have done a better job and communicated better. Stay far, far away. We paid this woman commission to do 1/2 of a job and a terrible one at that. We STILL haven’t heard a single peep from her, not the slightest hint of an apology since we had to navigate the entire closing alone, but she has her money, so I’m not surprised. Worst company ever.

I have done 3 real estate deals with Sarah Hayes and the Hayes team. They have been amazing to work with on every deal! They are very professional while being very personable. The team helped me sell a house and then move into my dream home. We hit some stumbles along the way, but the Hayes team directed me towards what to do and we got our house sold and were able to buy an amazing house. I would highly recommend the Hayes team! They are amazing people and do so much good for our community!
