My husband and I had the most completely horrendous experience with this realty company, from start upon signing with them to past closing. The realtors we worked with were Mike (Michael) Parker our realtor, and CC Cossette, broker/owner of the business.
It happens that we had a unique property with two separate habitations, and therefore there were four sellers all together, and eventually there also happened to be four buyersto give some context. We allowed the other two sellers involved to choose the realtor for the saleafter searching, meeting with various realtors, and comparing they chose Mike Parker with Assets Realty. Our first experience and impression of Mike was not not the greatest.
Upon signing the listing agreement we noticed the document was titled as the sale under the name of the other two involved sellers only, our last name was not included in the title anywhere, not with even a hyphen or a slash, nothing; he also hadnt even bothered to make proper room and lines for us to sign on, instead we were relegated to squeezing our names in where it would fit. Unnecessarily rude and dismissive we thought these slights were but not the end of the world, and so we moved forward. From the outset I noticed that the email communications Mike started to send included only myself and the other two sellers, who for context happen to be my parents; my husband was not included and when I inquired as to why I was told it was because he did not have my husbands email. He never asked for it; it was obviously apparent to all of us at this point that we would not sign with Mike or this company again and so my husband just said forget it. For context, my husband and I owned 2/3 of this property, and the other sellers 1/3, but even if it were 50/50 we deserved to be shown fair equal respect during this processwe were not.
Every email and text from Mike had multiple, multiple spelling, grammar, and syntax errorsI make mistakes myself both in personal and occasionally in professional communications, however I give my best effort to avoid these communication errors in general but particularly in professional communications with a simple proofreadit was another sign of a general lack of respect and care.
The pictures of the property, which is an amazing property and should have sold itself, were utterly lacking and did not even include video of the inside or drone footage of the outsideits located on the waterfront, so Im unsure as to why that was not done. In fact, after seeing this and hearing about how disappointing it was from our neighbors actually, my father took it upon himself to go out on the water for the water view shots of the property, not Mike. There were errors in the listing, which itself was altogether truly lacking and disappointing, that we attempted to correct with Mike but he did not, and this led to issues later on with certain additional features being automatically included in the property sale that had never been checked or cleared with us.
When we eventually had prospective buyers viewing the property we had to ask and ensure that the basic courtesy of the realtors and the buyers would wear booties in the house given that it was always immaculately and it was crucial that it remained clean given that it was operating as a short term rentala fact Mike was well aware of but had not checked with us or asked how to ensure safety and quality of the property/rental during viewingsinstead we had to be the ones who initiated; this became the most common theme of working with Mike. We were always chasing down Mike for information, dates, etc and it never felt as though he was working for us with our, the sellers, best interests in mind.
We never felt like this realtor or this company was working on our behalf, instead we often were disregarded, disrespected, and dismissed right through the closing process.
