When I cashed out my 401K, they asked for bank account verification. I sent it. They didnt like the screen shot of my mobile app. They asked for a direct deposit form with a blank check. I sent it. They didnt like that either and asked for a letter from my bank branch manager. I sent it. They didnt like that either. So I called their corporate offices and the manager there accepted my direct deposit and blank check. He said it would take 2-5 business days for direct deposit to go through. After 6 business days, I called customer service. They said they had to verify my bank account information and were still in the process of verifying it. Then it would be another 5-10 business days to deposit the funds into my account. Finally, they agreed to overnight a paper check. When I went to their bank to cash the check, their bank refused to cash it, saying Equitable requested that the check be deposited in a bank account only. So I had to open a new bank account where I just moved. After depositing the check, I was told that Equitable put a 6 day hold on my check. It is taking more than a month to retrieve my money. I've spent 20+ total hours on hold throughout this process that is so far taking 4 weeks. Ive had to borrow money from family in the mean time to eat. In the time it has taken Equitable to send my money I contributed to my retirement account over the last year, I interviewed for a job, took a grayhound bus to another state where the job is, signed up with a labor union, did employee paperwork, worked two weeks and earned my forst paycheck. I am getting my first paycheck at my new job before I get my 401K money I asked for a week before interviewing for this job. Getting my money out of Equitable has turned into a second full time job. This is absolutely ridiculous. Each time I called, I was on hold for more than an hour, got passed around to different departments, and was treated like an idiot. The last time I called, I hung up after being on hold for 2 hours. I would give Equitable zero stars if I could. I will never do business with Equitable ever again and I recommend you dont either.

Very unimpressed. There are so many companies to invest with, don't waste your time with Axa.
