My wife and I used MGM from 2015-2017 to manage our property. Bar none one of the worst companies we have ever done business with. Horrible communication skills, questionable use of family members for maintenance, allowing tenants out of signed leases because of your “friendshipsâ€. Hopefully things have changed.

If you're a landlord, I do not recommend this business. I was disappointed in their lack of communication and disorganization. My husband and I no longer live in Montana so decided to hire MGM as our property manager for our house in Great Falls. It was very difficult to get in touch with them and they were slow to respond to emails or phone calls. When I asked if they had listed my house for rent, they assured me they had the house listed for rent online and had posted a rent sign in the yard. I checked the 3 major websites and confirmed that they had not posted it online. We asked friends to drive by the property and there was no sign in the yard. They lied about it being posted online and having a sign in the yard. I confronted MGM and they said they would look into it. A few days later, my property was posted for rent online, however they posted the wrong pictures. Instead of my property, they posted pictures of a teenage girl in a prom dress. In October, we found out they never turned the heat on in our vacant house. The weather was dropping below freezing for multiple days and they still had the AC running. We asked MGM to turn on the heat due to the freezing temperatures. They didn't respond to us for a week. We finally asked my brother-in-law to meet a locksmith at the house. He was able to get in and turn on the heat. This type of miscommunication (lies) or lack of communication (slow or no response) went on for about 4 months (July, August, September, October). In October, we fired them. They wouldn't answer their phone or respond to emails so my husband flew to Montana to physically go to their office and get our keys back. We hired a different company who was able to get the house cleaned and rented in December. MGM is very disappointing and they caused me 5 months of vacancy, plus extra expenses like a locksmith and a flight to Montana.

If you buy or rent a property they manage, you should know that you will lose sleep over how poor the communication is, how they don't cash your checks, and how they won't return calls. My investment is going down the drain because they run the Homeowners Association. Note: We have not been able to get anything related to our Homeowners Association from them, they keep ducking our calls, and they are actually preventing us from managing our properties. I added this because I want others to know that if you see MGM on anything you are about to rent or purchase, you need to walk the other way. This company has completely fallen apart and tenants and owners are having to wait at their office building for hours to try and catch the owner to get any help. This is not okay and was this way pre-COVID, so it is not related to the pandemic.
