Do not bring your car here for service. I brought my car in because my window wouldn't roll up or down. Service tells me I need a new regulator / motor and that the part costs 414.86. I begrudgingly give them the go ahead to perform the work but I got curious so I began researching the price of the part. I couldn't find a single window regulator/motor for over 200 dollars. Most were 100 to 150. I tried calling to speak to someone regarding the steep price. They would not provide me with the part number. I was told it's GM policy to not provide part numbers. The part number is on my bill and I've already approved the work but they still can't give me the part number. It is shameful to price gouge people to such an extent. Marking up a 100 to 150 dollar part to over 400 dollars should be a crime. I've had my car for 9 years now, bought new from dealership, and I've always taken it to the dealership for service. I will never take my car back to this dealership and I advise everyone else to do the same. Baldwin Chevrolet you should be ashamed of yourselves for price gouging customers so badly. The 414.86 was for that part alone. No labor or tax included in that total. I just want to make that clear. I have no problem paying extra for qualified mechanics from the dealership. Even with some reasonable surcharges I'm still ok. But when you raise the price of your parts by 100/150% I am not ok. Enjoy the money I gave you for this repair as it will be the last. Edit: I found the exact GM OEM part on both Amazon and GM Parts Direct. On Amazon the part is going for $109 new and from GM Parts Direct it is going for $229.21. This part is not worth 414.86 period and you know this. That's why you didn't want to give me the part number. If you want to make this right, you'll need to at least match GM Parts Direct. Otherwise I will leave this review here and you will never again receive my business. If you price gouge customers this much on a $110 item, I can only imagine the astronomical totals you must come up with for the more expensive parts. Absolutely not. Is this the "quality experience" you speak of? Ripping people off. Your customers having to spend time researching the parts and making reviews to call you out because of your bad business practices and lack of transparency. I take my car to the dealership because I want to be taken care of and not have to think about it much. I don't want to be price gouged and have to spend my precious time doing detective work. This has been anything but a "quality experience".
