Total Comfort

Have to reschedule twice the service appt. The second case was that they didn’t notify me of the need ti reschedule it. Terrible customer service. I immediately switched to a different contractor.

Home Depot advertised a $59 summer a/c tune up. It was performed by Total Comfort technician Matt M. They are a Home Depot partner. A/C was functioning well. Matt comes inside with a picture of what he described as a "crispy" wire connection to the outside unit contactor. I ask him if they can just replace the "crispy" wire (wire was visible through melted sheath). Matt says no, we need a new contactor and quotes $540 for repair. He then goes into hardcore pitch to sell me a new HVAC system, estimates $12K to $14K. Wants to schedule his sales department with me. I decline and call another service. Contactor is GOOD and they replace said "crispy" wire for $60. Total Comfort LIED to me...tried to scam me. FWIW, a new contactor for my model costs less than $20 and can be changed in less than an hour. Total Comfort wanted $540 to install a $20 part in less than one hour. This type of "service" scam is widespread in Kansas City. I hate to see these predator companies scamming people who may not know better. BUYER BEWARE....INSTEAD, RUN!!
