I had a confirmed reservation. Less than a day before my move day, I got a call from that location informing me that the van was no longer available, and that I had to call some manager to find a replacement at a different location. I said I didn't need another location, so the guy said he'd call me back within 40 minutes - guess what, he never did. So I just left hanging and ended up canceling my reservation.

Had a confirmed rental. They called me to cancel at 4:00 pm, the day before my 9:00 am reservation. No offer to help find a replacement truck. Nothing.

Add one more to the long list of reviews who reserved weeks/months in advance only to receive a cancellation notice just days before a big move. They are clearly not doing this right.

We reserved a cargo van two months before our son's move from Mpls to Chicago. I actually went to the Hiawatha location at the time to look at a van, the two men that worked there were very nice.
I called two days before the rental date to confirm everything was in order, I was told that it was.
The next morning I got a call saying the van was no longer available and I would have to call the fleet manager to try to find another vehicle. There was no cargo van or small truck available in Minnesota, they had a 16' truck in Burnsville for an upcharge. We cancelled the reservation. There is a lot more to this story, but the point is....if you are moving, you cannot rely on getting a van or truck from Budget for your move and we found out the day before our trip to Chicago.
I would not recommend using Budget Truck rental unless you thrive on scrambling the day before your move to find alternative transportation.

They cancelled my moving truck rental 3 days before a big move, then would not answer the phone or try to problem solve with me. The national customer service line told me they would look for an alternate truck for me, then did not. They finalized the reservation cancellation without any further help and then would not answer my phone call either. Best rates in town for very bad or no service.
