Rent is extremely high for what you get. Hot tub unavailable for most of the fall/winter. Washer has broke three times. The apartment you receive most likely will be much smaller than the apartment shown to you during a tour.

Notice that most of the reviews are from people that have taken tours, not those that have actually lived here. Im not sure if theres some sort of incentive for leaving a review at the end of your tour, because it seems unnatural for people to feel compelled to leave an apartment review after a tour.
Anyway, I digress. Im leaving this review based on my stepsons experiences. UNCOMMON Dinkytown is a poorly maintained building without many of the same perks of comparable apartments. For example, on our tour, the tour guide told us there was free printing on the premisesthere is not, as you have to pay something like 50 cents a page to print using their poorly maintained printer. Not sure how other apartments are nowadays but when my daughter was going to the U from 2016 to 2020 all apartments in this price range offered actual free printing.
There were many broken things in my stepsons apartment that never got fixed, including the smoke detector. Maybe not a big concern for teens and young 20-somethings but parents beware.
They say they offer free breakfast and snacks but those dont get put out until most students have left for classes for the day, and they get put away before kids start returning from classes.
Piles of vomit would sit in the hallways for weeks before ever getting cleaned up. My stepson said he noticed one pile sit there for two months. I will add photos to this review later if I can get them from him.
He got severely overcharged on electricity with no explanation. He and his roommates were all great at conserving energy and were a group of friends who had lived together the prior year as well with none of the outrageous charges.
I realize that the location is somewhat conducive to a party environment but the apartment was horrible about maintaining quiet hours as promised. 1AM on a weekday and people would be drinking, blasting loud music, and yelling from the hot tub. Noise complaints didnt do anything.
Also the gym never had wipes available, which is just horrific. They have canisters for wipes, so you might be misled into thinking sanitation is a priority on the tours, but I assure you it is not. Of course no college kid is bringing their own wipes to the gyms so the equipment never got wiped down. My stepson dealt with a series of styes while living herewould not be surprised if gym was the culprit.
Also loads of fun as a parent to see that every crime alert near campus is a block away from their childs apartment especially when they know the apartment clearly has poor security from aforementioned trouble maintaining basic quiet hours.
Please take some time to seek out reviews from those who have actually lived here or know someone who has. These reviews and ratings are not an accurate representation of the average experience here.

I visited the Uncommon the other day and was greeted by a worker named Julia. She was super friendly and extremely welcoming. She even mentioned the perks about living at the Uncommon. Thanks to the kind staff here, it is now its a top contender for my housing next year.

My daughter just signed at Uncommon and during our leasing process Julia made it such a smooth and easy process!

Went to explore this place as I am exploring housing options and the person that greeted and helped me, her name was Julia, was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. They were super friendly and answered every single question I had about anything. Nothing was left unanswered and I feel like this was just really good service and pushed me in the right direction for possibly finding a new place. Shoutout Julia, a real one
