Horrible management company. We negotiated a lease with their equally horrible leasing agent. We were presented with a contract which we signed and handed over a security deposit and full first-month's rent. We heard nothing for two weeks. The leasing agent then told us he had an addendum to our lease. Without saying so, they tried to increase the rent by $150/month. When we declined and said that's not what we agreed to and we want our money refunded, we were told that Osprey was "working on it". It's accepted that once a check is cashed, that indicates acceptance of a deal. Osprey has had our money for over a month, they cashed our check but did not agree to the lease. When we called Osprey to find out where our money was we were told it's "in process and we can cut the check next week". What they've done is probably illegal and certainly unacceptable. I don't know of any time it's acceptable to hold on to someone else's money for a month, interest-free. We are in the market for another lease, but we certainly will never deal with Osprey or the leasing agent Joe Hamway again. Please stay away if you value both your money and your time.
