On Wednesday 4/10/24 my Generac was running it's bi-weekly diagnostic and had a red fault light come on. Back on 2/12/24 I had Vander Hyde perform the annual maintenance [$545.00], and back on 10/10/23 they came out to fix some loose wiring which caused it to stop working [$380.50]. I called and explained the situation, and they said it would be a $375 diagnostic fee just to come out. I said if you charge me I am taking my business elsewhere since you have been out twice in the last 6 months and I'm still having issues. The machine is only 2.5 years old and has had several issues. The lady on the phone pushed right past it, not caring at all about the situation, and said that is going to be $375, so I hung up on her. I have paid a lot of money to Vander Hyde to have this thing installed [over $11K] and repaired, and they are still trying to sock it to me with fees even when it keeps having operating issues. This is very poor service, and unethical on top of it. Clearly they care more about money than keeping a customer happy. Now I am looking for a new company, and I strongly encourage you to look elsewhere if you are considering getting a generator installed.
