Lume Salon

Absolutely amazing, I've found my forever salon. This is my second time with Lume trimming my buzzcut grow-out. Laura was my stylist and she's an amazing artist, really knowledgeable and incredibly good at shaping hair, even as thick and unruly as mine. Not only did she do an incredible job on the cut, but she also gave me great tips for styling it at home, and was generally lovely to chat with. They've been above and beyond supportive during my charity project and have honestly made the whole experience more amazing than I ever expected. I love it there and can't wait to go back! I had the absolute best time at Lume Salon. I went there to get my hair buzzed for charity, and going in I was (obviously) super nervous. But the stylist and salon owner made the whole event one of the most wonderful, cheerful, and fun experiences I've had in a long time! They were so positive and complimentary, not to mention incredibly supportive of my cause. By the end of the cut, I felt like we were all great friends. They even gave me some product to keep my newly-buzzed head from getting sunburnt! Will absolutely be going back there for pixie maintenance and any future hair care needs. Thank you Lume! I cannot thank Franki from Lume enough for completely restoring my confidence today and giving me the MOST bad a** hair in Boston- maybe even the entire continental US. Two days ago I went into a different salon asking for a cut and color. I left with no color (thank goodness), a horribly uneven cut (bangs included!), and felt awful. Today I went to Franki and I told her my story, and she said "I think you were supposed to come to me, you needed me." And she was right!!! Fate!! This woman and the magic hands she possesses. She fixed my cut and gave me a balayage, making my color and layer dreams a reality. I put it in a braid after? Adorable. A bun? I am Tinker Bell. A pony tail!?! Like!!! It's too good ladies and gents!! I would like to add that Maya assisted and was also super great. The two women were excellent company on a rainy Tuesday afternoon. If you have a hair mishap or need a stylist you can trust, call Franki. The feeling these women gave me today is priceless. Thank you thank you thank you!! I will be back, obviously. TL;DR: Caitie gave me a great great haircut and beautiful, warm highlights on my very dark 2b hair. I have not had such a great customer service experience in a long time. I'm that girl who always has 20 questions before I do anything. I've never had a stylist be so patient, answering questions, explaining the chemistry behind things, why she was going to do what she was going to do, etc. She never made me feel annoying or like I was taking up too much time. Caitie warned me in advance that, because my hair is super dark and dyed, how it would respond to bleach would be unpredictable. She offered to skip the highlights and do just the cut if I didn't want to take the chance, but I decided to go for it, and it came out great! Even though I was already happy, Caitie sensed there were a few little tweaks I would have liked, and offered to have me come back free of charge after a few washes to make them. She wasn't happy until I got EXACTLY what I wanted. On top of that, my hair looks and feels super healthy. My hair holds onto color really hard and in the past stylists have bleached the life out of it so it would be as bright as I wanted leaving the salon, but it killed my hair. Caitie was more concerned with the health of my hair, and was honest in explaining the process and how many visits it might take to get it as light as I'd eventually like. Lume was a bit of a splurge for me, but you get what you pay for with this salon! I will definitely be back.
