Rooms need a lot of work

This is the 3rd year in a row that we've stayed here during Sunfest. This year our room should have been condemned. We stayed ocean front, first floor. At first it looked clean, but once we were there for a few minutes we began to realize the floor was quite dirty so we wore our shoes at all times, even to go to the bathroom at night. Our air conditioner was a bit suspect, as the second night it wouldn't turn on at all no matter what temp we set it at. Our bathroom had some mold spots in the tile grout. The worst, though, was this constant musty smell. We began poking around outside and discovered a nasty musty stairway right next to our room that lead to a basement staff break room. Something about this stairway is seeping through to the room, making our room stink to high mustiness. And there were fruit flies all over the room, especially in the bathroom, which might also be connected to the musty stairway next to our room. If you stay oceanfront boardwalk first floor, hopefully you are not in the end room next to the musty stairwell. Nearby activities: Grand Hotel next door has a fun bar that we visited at night, and cool coffee shop for morning coffee.
