My husband and I spent our honeymoon in Bar Harbor. We stayed at the Inn and it was wonderful! The innkeepers are amazing people they make it feel like home, and all were welcome ! Plus the breakfast and snacks were out of this world delicious ! We would come back here before any other lodging on Mt. Desert Island! Thank you for the memories and moments !!! We can't wait to visit again!

If I could give this place an even higher rating I would. My wife and I both loved the inn keepers, Dora and Daniel, the inn itself and Southwest Harbor. The quiet side of the island is the way to go! We stayed in the Pemaquid Point Room and was great. Had an extra sitting room and awesome day bad/reading nook. Dora was so welcoming and Daniel makes an awesome breakfast. They are so thoughtful includoin making candy Buckeyes since we we're from Ohio. I can't wait to go back and there's no second thought at all about where to stay.

The hosts were wonderful. We arrived and were greeted with a tour of the inn and cookies. Each room was outfitted with its own bathroom, shower, extra blankets, and a sitting area. The rooms are cleaned daily when you're away. There were two choices for breakfast (both tasted great, in my opinion), and the cook took requests when we were particular about something. There was always coffee and tea. In the evenings they put out snacks, like chocolate cookies or red velvet cupcakes; one night they had a gluten free option. There are a ton of books and games in the sitting areas. There's a fireplace inside the sitting room and one outside when the weather is nice. If I ever have the opportunity to stay here again I will take it in a heartbeat.

My wife and I had been dreaming of visiting Maine for years and made the trip this past summer. There were so many cool things to do while there and staying at The Inn at Southwest made the experience beyond our wildest expectations!
Dora and Daniel's hospitality at this charming bed and breakfast and their knowledge of the area made for an authentic Maine vacation. Every morning Daniel's incredible culinary skills were topped by those of the morning before.
Dora's knowledge and experience form hiking the most tame to adventurous trails located in Acadia National Forest took us to some of the most breathtaking views. If you want to get a smile out of Dora when talking trails just mention "Ship Harbor Trail" as she gets teased for this being her favorite trail to mention to guests.
The breakfasts were all made from scratch by Daniel and each day's breakfast was truly more amazing than the one before.
Our room was immaculately kept, historic with all modern amenities.
Absolutely amazing experience! We look so forward to coming back and exploring more of the area and staying again at The Inn of Southwest.
