Twin Maple Outdoors

My wife and I did a full day moose safari with Rich in August and had a great time, it was exactly as advertised and exactly the type of experience we were searching for. We got to visit many different areas of Maine we had never visited before and spent the entire day learning about Maine, the animals and the environment that surrounds them. We also stayed at the lodge and that could not have been more accommodating, we look forward to going back this winter for another adventure!

Never caught so many fish in one day! Rich is a fantastic guide, what a fun day on the water catching fish and l learnt a few new techniques which is always great. Highly recommend Rich as he goes above and beyond to match sure your happy and you successful on your guided trip!

Rich Yvon of Twin Maples Outdoors is one of the best fishing guides I have found. I have been out with him 5 or 6 times and been extremely pleased. I fish mostly the Penobscot River for smallmouth bass, both fly-fishing and spin fishing. Rich knows the area waters intimately and always puts us on fish. He is also able to pinpoint exact locations and will say "put your fly right there"; more often than not, I catch a fish. He understands the ecology of each area. He is deeply respectful of the fish and tries to minimize harm to them (We do catch and release.) You can use your own gear but the gear he provides is first class and I use his to learn about different rods and reels. He uses, at my choice, both a jet boat and a drift boat. Both are comfortable and a pleasure to use. He has strong boat management skills. freeing me up to focus on catching fish. He is very concerned about your safety and comfort on the water. He provides a burger lunch cooked by him and plenty of water. He is very good at making suggestions about technique if you want them (I do) but will refrain from saying anything if that is preferred. He is a very good teacher. I always choose to go to an area to catch bigger fish even if fewer. But Rich will also bring you to sections of a river where you can run up a fish count. He is a good guide for an experienced fisherman and for beginners and he loves to take out kids to give them a wonderful early experience. I recommend him highly.

Just returned from a terrific fly fishing experience with Rich. Stayed in his first class cabin with all the amenities and led by his guiding expertise had great success at catching smallmouth bass. He consistently put us in a position to catch fish by knowing their location and the flies and presentation that they would respond to. I have fished with Rich several times and on each of those occasions he has demonstrated a thorough knowledge of the fishing environment and the techniques necessary to bring about a very enjoyable fly fishing adventure.
