Howard House Lodge

Ginny and Jim (owners) are both wonderful people and their inn is a little oasis in the woods about 1.4 miles from downtown Boothbay Harbor. Rooms were extremely comfortable (beds were super-comfortable) and we had a really enjoyable stay with them. Will be booking with them again soon.

As a business owner I completely understand the importance of quality, compassion and clarity when it comes to service’s being rendered. When those services are not being delivered accordingly a negative review could steer potential guests in a different direction.. Honestly if I have a bad experience I move on and if I have a great one then I’ll write. HOWEVER this is something that needs to be said. The owner of this Inn canceled a reservation on a guest when they were 1/2 way to the Inn. No hotels/motels/Inns/Air B&B’s with availability within an hour and a half radius. The family was traveling with two children ages of 14 months and 9 months. The women’s response was unprofessional and she showed no compassion. I believe her words were “you’ll find something”….

The Howard House is our go-to place to stay in Maine. We have been visiting Maine and staying here since I was a child, and the high quality has never changed. The owners are so kind, and will give great recommendations for local places to visit and eat. The buildings and rooms are immaculate. The gardens are absolutely beautiful and so relaxing. However, the best thing about staying here is the delicious, delicious breakfast. The home baked goods and hot entrees are absolute perfection. Thank you for years of happy memories!!!

We have been staying in the Howard House for years before my family bought a house in Boothbay. The inn is amazing - quaint, rustic, clean, just what would you want in a B&B in Maine. The owners are so kind and make everything very comfortable. The location is close to everything important in town. Would highly recommend staying Here!
