Secret gem in a perfect location. All I can say is "wow!", why didn't I know about this place before? We have stayed in the Quarter numerous times over the years, and prefer historic or unique properties with antique-type furniture. Our old favorites have either closed or switched to typical hotel room decor with a faint historic flair (I'm talking about you, Prince Conti Hotel!). The Audubon Cottages really fit the bill. Enter through a fairly nondescript door into another world - lush tropical semi-private courtyards off the stunning main courtyard. Each cottage is unique. The 2 bedroom units are stunning and huge. The bathrooms are modern but classic. Good water pressure for washing thick long hair. Everything was spotlessly clean. No weird or musty smells. The very welcoming and friendly staff was responsive and always available by phone or on-site. (It is not staffed 24/7, but help is only a phone call away). We parked at the Dauphine Orleans a block up the street, an affiliated property. We walked everywhere in the French Quarter including all the way to the end of the French Market, to the river, and up to Canal St. Nothing felt too far and we never felt unsafe (but always pay attention to your surroundings anywhere in NOLA these days!). You can be on Bourbon Street in 3 minutes. Yes, there was some street noise at night, mostly from cars with their outrageously loud and bass-filled sound systems. A small trade-off for being so close to the action! Bottom line, highly recommend Audubon Cottages. Rooms: The 2 BR units have the living rooms downstairs, very high ceilings, huge, and lots of personality. A great value if you're traveling with 2 couples or family. The 1 BR units are decently sized, with everything you need, including coffee maker and refrigerator.

We stayed in Cottage 2. I was a little apprehensive because I'd read the haunted stories, but we had a fabulous experience with no paranormal sightings

Great property, although a little loud noise from the street all hours of the night. This is new orleans and is expected. Loved our cottage!

We stayed here in Feb and I'll never stay anywhere else in New Orleans now! It was immaculately clean, comfortable, and beautiful. The combination of feeling like you have your own peaceful, private oasis while being right in the heart of the action of the French Quarter is really unique. The cherry on top is the service, they really go above and beyond. Jeffrey (I believe that was his name) made sure every detail was attended to. He helped with luggage and transportation, and made sure we knew where to get the best coffee, po boys, and ice cream all within walking distance. Above all, he made us laugh and feel at ease and welcome after a long day of travel. This is hospitality at its finest!
