Im a pretty patient individual, I understand people being late and its usually no problem, but its like no one at this office knows how to communicate. The first time I made an appointment with a therapist, she just didnt show up and I had to call the office. Whoever answered was driving and had to call me back because she had to pull over to see what I had going on. Come to find out Id been reassigned, which wouldve been no issue, but no one had communicated anything at all to me. So I wait weeks to hear from the therapist Id been reassigned to just to never receive any confirmation from her either. And she was late without any communication at all. Im so over it.

Ive had the pleasure of having Ms. Colar as my counselor for about 5 months now and shes helped me grow into a more balanced and grounded person from when I started HCO behavioral. I am very grateful for her and recommend this counseling program to anyone struggling or just looking to better themselves. Ms. Colar is great to talk to and always makes you feel heard!

My counselor was not very professional. She pointed out my flaws, made assumptions about my family, and stereotyped me (Im Hispanic). There was one time she was shocked that I find cleaning boring, because Mexicans love cleaning (I am not Mexican. I honestly would have preferred if she just called me a spic), as well as other similar comments. She was also mean and I assume it was jokingly, but for someone with anxiety like me, I could not get anything she said out of my head. I was definitely not comfortable enough with her to joke around with her in that way. Another thing that made me hesitant to open up to her was that shed use her other clients as examples, which made me wonder if she would use me as an example as well. I feel like Ive come out of counseling worse than how I went in. I talked to a few friends to make sure I wasnt overreacting, and they agree that she was being very unprofessional. Im sure there are lovely people at HCO, and Ms. Tamika is very sweet, but my experience with my counselor was enough to make me stay away from HCO.
