We had a room booked at the Hyatt this past weekend for Friday night. It was a 2 queen room because we had 2 adults and 3 small children. Friday afternoon I received a call saying they were not going to have us a room but that they would find us another one downtown. I stated that we booked there to be connected to the convention center. The room they found us was not connected.
When we arrived in Louisville at 10:00pm, we were told that an adult had to "walk with a security guard" to the Omni, where they had secured us a room. Not sure what would have happened if there had only been 1 adult in our group, but 1 adult walked and the other drove the children the block and a half to the Omni. The security guard didn't even go all the way to the Omni, so not sure the reason for having to walk with him half way.
When we got inside the Omni, we were told the Hyatt had booked us a King room. Why would you not book us the same exact room we had booked at your hotel? Thankfully, the Omni staff was amazing and worked things out for us.
I understand it was a busy weekend in Louisville and hotels fill up. But don't allow rooms to be booked in your hotel if you don't have them available. And if you have to find a room somewhere else, make sure it is the same type room. Do better Hyatt.
