Not worth it! We just moved into the neighborhood and decided to try out Mafia Mike's since it was literally 2 minutes away. I decided to have it delivered since I have 2 small kids and picking it up isn't always the easiest. Simple order of a Medium Pepperoni Pizza and Bread Sticks...fast forward to an hour and a half later, still no pizza! We called and they said they would rush it. Pizza came (cold) and no bread sticks. Delivery driver said they would be back with them, they never came back. We called and expressed our unpleasant experience and was told that since we paid online that they would have to contact the web service to get a refund. Needless to say it's been a week and still no refund (or bread sticks).

If you're driving down 87th Street, you'd never know this place was here, but you should! Located in the shopping center on the southwest corner of 87th Street & Lackman in Lenexa is Mafia Mike's, a true "hole in the wall" type pizza place. There are a few reviews knocking this place, but it's now under new ownership. The quality was going downhill a bit, but the new owner has brought things back up to speed. If it's been a while since you've eaten there, go back. If you've never been there, take the time to visit. It's not very big inside and it gets pretty crowded on weekdays around lunch time. They have an all you can eat pizza buffet from 11:00am - 2:30pm (M-F) and 11:30 - 2:00 on Sundays. There's a reason the place gets crowded - the pizza is good! The crust is the best part here. It's not too thick, yet fluffy and chewy (perfect for folding, if you eat your pizza like that!) and it has an amazing flavor to it. I would be perfectly content just eating the crust! It tastes very fresh and has been cooked perfectly every time I've been there. The sauce is where people seem to disagree. It's not bad, but it's different. It's a bit spicy (almost like a hot spicy) but it gives a little flavor kick to the pizza. If you've never been to Mafia Mike's before, I would suggest telling them "easy on the sauce" just to be safe for the first time to see if you like it. If you like hot and spicy, then go for it... They've got a great selection of toppings to choose from. I always order light sauce because depending who makes the pizza, sometimes they can put a little too much on. The cheese is top quality and also tastes fresh with a nice flavor. They put the just right amount of cheese on as not to overload it (but the extra cheese is yummy!). With everything put together, it's literally mouthwatering. And, you'll get full for a reasonable price. While the regular prices are on the middle to higher end, they do offer coupons with some good discounts. Plus, the lunch buffet is a great bargain if you want to try different things and go all out. This place is a hidden home of pizza bliss. The service can be a little slow, but it's worth the wait. Usually there are only 2 people working (one cooking, one on register). The people that work there are nice and do their best, so be nice back. They offer free delivery within a 5 mile radius. That pretty much covers most of Lenexa and Shawnee. They will also happily do carry out and they cater too. I highly recommend the place if you're looking for something a little bit different than the norm. Don't let the looks of the place deceive you - the food is excellent. Bonus: They have Ms. Pac Man and other classic video games!
