I cannot stress this enough: if they're not grossly incompetent, then they are actively malicious. They took over at my apartment and would pretend that it was taking multiple weeks to get the checks that I had mailed to them (Cedar Rapids to North Liberty? I could walk there and back in that time. ) When I started sending checks by registered mail, all of the sudden, everything happened in a timely manner. Very suspicious and outright shady. Avoid these chum guzzling taint clowns.

Their maintenance is the worst and they processed very very slow. It has been two months with broken closet doors and a room door. They said they will be fixed in 2-5wks but we are still living with the broken stuff. When I looked around the rooms, they said they will fix the broken stuff right away when I request maintenance through their website. Now I got a number of requests behind and they still not fix anything. I called them several times and even stopped by the office, but haven't received any response. They also gave me the wrong cargo keys and front door keys. I don't know whether they even do their job. I learned a lot from this experience that I must carefully consider the maintenance as well while looking for the rent. -updated. The doors were finally fixed on last December. It took 6months.

Kacena and Nest are the same ones under the Governor group. Please do not ignore the bad reviews before signing a lease. Always take lots of pictures and keep records for your evidence. You would never know what they are going to charge.

Very dishonest ,i worked with sandy ,my experience she is not trustable agent ,i would not recommed this company as a real estate agent .

Save yourself the headaches and definitely some money and go rent from someone else. I rented from Kacena for a year and right off the bat it was a nightmare. The communication is basically nonexistent, no returned calls or emails - if you show up to their office they ~might~ help you. I ended up living somewhere else halfway through the lease because I felt so unsafe there. Finally went to move out, had the place professionally cleaned - they kept my entire security deposit and even requested more for normal wear & tear / or even things that shouldn’t be my responsibility to pay for. I tried to work it out with them and figure out what was going on that they were requesting over $1000 for.....absolutely no response via calls or email. Kandi was always “too busy to talk to me” or was “on a call or in a meeting.” Finally got a response and that was being sent to debt collections (just so they didn’t have to deal with me?) That whole year was such a pain I couldn’t wait to move out. Save yourself some major headaches & money - go somewhere else.
