Best car buying experience, and Ive had many. Jason Butts was knowledgeable and quick to tell me prices and mileage, I decided to buy in 15 min. Gary the finance manager completely under stood my no extras request and made all the adjustments necessary with no talk back on why I needed each one. I will be back to buy my next car from Thompson Honda, and Ive never been a return customer to any other dealer.

I made an appointment for my air conditioner on my 2017 Civic. For those that don't know, this car has a known issue with the air conditioner condenser from the factory, I received a letter stating as much from Honda indicating my car was affected and that if I had problems with my AC that it would be tested for free and replaced free if it was determined to be faulty. On top of that, my car is still under the factory warranty. I made an appointment to take my car in and arrived at this dealership and the service advisor asked if I was leaving the car or waiting. I asked how long the test would take and he said they had to refill the AC system and it would cost $300. I questioned this and indicated the letter I received that stated the test was free, the service advisor had a poor attitude and said in a snarky tone "I don't know where that letter came from, but it's $300." This was all without ever looking at the car. I figured they were trying to rip me off so I grabbed my keys and left. I called a Honda dealership in Indianapolis and they knew exactly what issue I was referring to and confirmed it should be a no cost test and repair. I later found out a family member had the same problem and Thompson's hit him for the $300 recharge that didn't fix it and then quoted him the cost to pay out of pocket to replace the known faulty part when he went back a few weeks later. Beware, they seem more interested in ripping people off than running an honest shop.

I see they replied to this, I would like to remind this dealership that they did not even look at the vehicle to determine if it was a rock damage or anything. I was quoted $300 up front immediately, they had never seen the car and in fact never saw it. I would also like to mention again that another family member fell for the same spiel from this dealership and I think they paid the $300 on two separate occasions before Thompson's suggested they replace the condenser and they provided a quote to do so (not free). Finally, I am pretty sure the service advisor Bud mentioned is who I dealt with. I would not take a bicycle here to be worked on.

I was to meet my wife with at the dealership, but I was running late, and she was early. When I arrived, she was waiting and the CRV was already in the shop for an oil change. The service people treated her very well and made her feel very comfortable. In today's world that means a lot to me. It's hard for some women to feel safe out there. The service department did a great job on our vehicle and it was returned very clean and well taken care of. Thank you Honda of Terre Haute.
