The Northshore garage doors crew are very professional and responsive. They had competitive pricing and we’re in contact every step of the job until finish. They also did a very good job replacing our garage door and cleaning up the jobsite afterwards and hauling away all the old debris.

NSGD needs to improve their online order form (torsion springs). There are two options on this form that do not inform about changing spring size (i.e. "extra wound" and "add 25K more cycles"). To the average DIY tech, this sounds more like improved performance rather than changing spring size. I'm now having to eat cost of oversized springs. 3 stars

We called yesterday afternoon and Freddy came by an hour later. I told him the garage door didn't open and pressed the open/close button to confirm this. He immediately saw that the spring was busted. He replaced the spring, did a quick tune-up, and afterwards, told me the garage door opener didn't work anymore. A new Liftmaster opener was to cost an estimate of $425. Freddy communicated very well and did an excellent job yesterday. My only concern is that he told me I needed a new garage door opener after replacing the spring. When he first arrived, I told him the door wouldn't open. He could have checked that initially by simply pressing the on/off button and then I would have a more complete analysis, up front. Otherwise it gives the impression of "oh, by the way, after I fixed the first problem and you paid me, then I happen to find another problem causing your garage door not to open." I'm sure that wasn't his intention but I suggest this as a learning moment: always determine up front if there are any other issues that the customer has besides the one you're fixing, so the customer knows up front what needs to be fixed, and the full estimate.
