I contacted a number of other home investors prior to choosing HomeVestors, and I couldn’t be happier. The other companies I talked to and tried to deal with, are chock full of bait-n-switch tactics. I backed out of 2 other contracts with other companies when they tried to scam me in the fine print at closing. I was ((very)) pleased at how honest HomeVestors were up front, how they addressed all my concerns, and provided a fast closing. A+ thank you!

She had all the answers to our questions and she made the transaction so easy and painless. Nicole always had time for us, returned our calls promptly and never made us feel were a bother to her. Nicole was extremely responsive, professional and empathetic. She was very clear and transparent and explained the process thoroughly. Even though we decided not to sell to an investor at the time, she left a good impression and we'd be happy to talk to her again and recommend working with her if this is the right option for you.

These people are vultures. Home Vultures is a more accurate name. They send out unsolicited letters to unsuspecting - and uninterested - homeowners seeking to buy their house. Hoping to capture the naive and innocent, they claim to offer a "simple and quick process" which you can bet is a super low ball offer. They focus on modest houses in hot areas, letting you know that your home is so shabby it should be torn down. "We Buy Ugly Houses" they boast. My house is not ugly. They either tear it down and replace it with some rickety McMansion or do a fast superficial update and flip for a quick buck. So don't even think about doing business with these people. If you're thinking of selling get an independent appraisal and work with a licensed real estate professional who is bound by a code of ethics and Illinois state regulation. And do NOT believe ANY of the positive reviews here. Check the interweb for reviews on other sites as well. You will be disgusted.
