I have been at Elm Street Plaza for 2 years, I love the location, it's walking distance from everything I need. I think the value and what I get for the money here is the best in the city and the staff is outstanding! I couldn't be happier with my decision!

I was a resident here until I reached a breaking point and had to move out to escape the jumbo sized roaches crawling out of every drain, nook and cranny on a daily basis in spite of numerous extermination visits. And this was on a higher level unit. Completely unsanitary and unacceptable. The buildings infestation is slowly spreading to every floor. They really need to just evacuate everyone for a day and fumigate the entire structure. I still have PTSD from the nightmare experience.

Update to review:
Our lease is almost up, and weve had to live in our apartment in the early summer for several days without the AC Chiller working. Now in a heat wave in August, the Chiller is not working again after the AC was flipped off briefly.
Pros:
The location cannot be beat - close to red line, walkable to beach and lake front.
Door staff and maintenance are wonderful and maintenance requests are answered quickly.
Certain things that arent ideal, but arent dealbreakers:
-There are only 3 elevators, and often 1 is not in use for moving in/out so there are often long elevator wait times.
-The laundry room is hit or miss if youll be able to use washers/dryers.
Cons:
-They claim they are only able to switch heating and AC one time, so currently, in May 2022, it is 87 degrees outside and there is still no AC. We received communication from management that AC will not be turned on until June 1st per city ordinances, which I understand to be out of their control, but its still intolerable to stay in our apartment this month.
-WiFi seems to constantly go out. The building has a contract with RNC only, so were unable to have any other WiFi providers (However, we could switch to ATT, but their offer for our unit was something awful like 15 MBPS). This has made working from home (which I do full-time) extremely difficult.
-The few times weve communicated with the management office, they have not been ideal to discuss issues with.
For context, we did choose to renew our lease out of convenience (even though rent increased by $150/mo), and living here can be nice. However, at the price we pay for rent, I wish it would be a better and easier place to live than it is.
*Update: One day after I wrote this review and after, I assume, a ton of complaints from residents about the extremely high temps in units, the office switched the building over to AC.*
