Hotel was nice but $30 "urban fee" came across as scammy as it was only mentioned when checking in.

Visited in March for a 2 day mother/daughter weekend. Wonderful hotel! Stylish, professional staff, super clean, comfy beds, and we enjoyed the restaurant. Very convenient location too. Will return for next Chicago trip! Arlo Hotel, thank you for a lovely weekend!

Room was clean and check-in was easy. Location was also really good. I think we were unfortunate that our room was next to some kind of utility room for the staff because there always seemed to be people hanging around outside the room. Fine I guess they're just doing their job but it made the room feel less private. There is an ice machine as well but you have to go to a specific floor to find it. Might have been the 5th.

Overall, Arlo Chicago was just okay. Upon arrival, we were told that our room was an ADA room, and that we dont want to manifest anything, so we could opt for a standard room on the 3rd floor, or upgrade for $25/night. We opted to stay in the ADA room on the 11th floor. Additionally, we were first informed about the Urban Fee at check-in. The check-in experience came across as dishonest. The room was also okay. It wasnt cleaned well. There were open condiment packets near the espresso machine. The carpet had debris on it. I found a pair of sunglasses on the floor. The bathroom was okay. Sliding doors never offer real privacy and the shower head was leaky. The bed was comfortable, but most hotel beds are. The location is great, but I suspect there are better hotels in the area. I wouldnt recommend or return.
