03/01/2015 To Whom It May Concern, Ashley Furniture in Arlington Hgts., IL. Stay as far away from this place as possible! They are scum bags. On 02/10/2015 I stopped into the store to look at a new couch. My salesperson was Vinny. I found a couch I liked & I said Vinny what kind of warranty can with the couch? He said 5 years! I wanted to look at other couch’s as this was the first place I stopped. So I look at a couple of other places but found nothing I liked. On the way back I was going to stop back in & order the couch but I couldn’t make a left turn into the store. I decided to go home & order the couch over the phone was I had already seen the couch. I called & talked to Vinny & he ordered the couch for me. They Emailed me a receipt but it was only a credit card receipt. Not an itemized receipt. I called and asked for an itemized receipt. After multiple calls to the Arlington Hgts. Store with no reply. I called the Naperville Store & talked to Chris to see if I could cancel that order & reorder from him. He said no. As long as there was an order in the computer for the couch he couldn’t do anything. Like magic the next morning I had my receipt. There was a charge for $169.99 for the 5 year warranty that I was told came with the couch. I called the store & talked to the manager “Daniel” He didn’t seem to be too concerned that Vinny had lied to me. (My guess is they do it all the time). I told him I didn’t want the warranty. He told me they would credit me for the warranty. To this day, 3 weeks later I still don’t have the credit. I refused the delivery & am looking somewhere else for a new couch. Not worth the hassle.

I dislike having to haggle like a car dealership but since it's the only way to drive price down, you just have to play the game. That being said, we love our new couch. Delivery was on-time. Salesman was nice.

I purchased a "made to order" Surya rug. I was told it would be 3-4 weeks for delivery. FIVE weeks later, I called to check on the status because I had no rug and no one called me. I was then told it would be "about" another week. I called two weeks later. Still no rug. Then I was told it "can take over two months" for a made-to-order rug to be delivered; but when I asked them to call Surya to check on the status, I was given the run around....and of course, a manager was always conveniently unavailable. Three different people total told me they would check with Surya and call me back. I never got a call back. I finally was able to speak to a manager, Daniel, who ASSURED ME that he would call me back the next day after checking on the status of the rug. He never called. I called two days later and left a message for him to call me back. He didn't. Its been ELEVEN WEEKS now and I have no rug, no phone call, nothing. I would rather defecate into my hands and clap than do business here again.
