Im honestly really unhappy with my result they gave me. Ill explain why. Currently Im waiting to get preop orthodontics before jaw surgery for a class three malocclusion and maxillary vertical deficiency. My new ortho says its possible that my malocclusion wasnt as bad as it is now, meaning the malocclusion possibility developed after my first set of braces. But I look at older photos prior to any orthodontics and it was quite noticeable. All Atlanta Orthodontics Specialists seemed to do is straighten my teeth and camouflage the problem with dental compensation. My lower jaw is a lot more protruding than the upper one, basically they just adjusted to teeth so they fit together by tilting the upper teeth outward and the lower teeth back instead of actually fixing the problem. Which admittedly, you cant actually fix just with braces. However the responsible thing to do wouldve been using protraction to fix the actual skeletal discrepancy between my jaws while I was young enough to do that or refer me to another ortho who couldve. That couldve avoided jaw surgery entirely. They also titled my top teeth so far forward to compensate that it exacerbated my lack of upper teeth show from the maxillary deficiency. Another complaint is that they left my palate still quite narrow. But to be fair, maybe they offered it but my mom didnt opt for it at the time. Overall, not only was the orthodontic service I had from them achieved a poor result. I now have to get further orthodontics to decompensate my teeth prior to jaw surgery. Again this couldve been avoided had they using protraction to bring out my upper jaw or referred me to another ortho who could have. Id probably need braces before surgery anyways but likely for a much shorter amount of time if it were not for their work. Ill give credit where its due, they did make my teeth straight and they also had a really nice facility and friendly staff. And honestly, in the case of most people who just need their crooked teeth straightened, this place is probably just fine.
