Nothing is centralized and their way of doing business seems very outdated compared to Kaiser. I would describe this insurance as DIY insurance.

I have healthcare insurance with Cigna and you healthcare professionals are ripping us everyday Americans off. Not only do you get $100 a week out of my paycheck but also require a huge deductible. Just for the service provider to want his $40 copay. Then that service provider may also send you another bill in the mail and if that isn't enough I got a bill in mail from you Cigna saying I owe you another 40 dollars. They may have broken up the Italian Mafia but you corporations and politicians are the real Mobsters and crooks. Oh yeah don't forget about the healthcare law & it's penalties.

The worst insurance ever just Lies and deception all around from this company. Had cigna insurance for over 30 years and paid my premiums on time and never missed a payment. After 30 plus years paying my premiums they refused to cover cost of my knee replacement surgery. Said it wasn’t needed medical care according to their doctors. They said all I needed was wrap a brace around my knee. And then I would be fine. Swear that was exactly what cigna doctors said in their denial letters: “just wrap Ace bandage on your knee but you don’t actually need the surgery.” Word for word that was their solution to all my excruciating knee pain. Very disappointed in all the lies and deception cigna uses. Just a greedy company who only wants to make profits. Doesn’t show respect for their members. Doesn’t listen to and value other medical opinions. (Except those on their payroll.) Those are the only medical opinions which Cigna accepts: their own medical doctors. This company pays its own doctors to find even the tiniest excuse to deny coverage. Don’t ever sign up with cigna insurance. This is just a fraud and a scam. Very expensive health insurance premiums with crummy coverage in return. Save yourself the time and hassle. Avoid the aggravation and switch to another insurer. Glad that I was finally able to. Found a much more honest and ethical insurer beside cigna. These people here at cigna are a bunch of con artists who will cheat you out of high insurance premiums. Yet they won’t be ‘together all of the way’ to stand by their own coverage policies. Isn’t enough horrible stuff in the world I could say about this fraudulent company. Avoid at all costs and stay far far away. Also the company hires very uneducated and unprofessional people working for them. Called their customer service number. Had to call multiple times with the same issue. They leave you on hold forever. Or just disconnect the phone call altogether if they don’t feel like answering your questions. One of their reps even called me the N word then rudely hung up the phone. I called back and the customer service manager totally denied it. (Even though their phone conversations are recorded which was cold hard proof.) So if you like ignorant racist company representatives yelling racial slurs at you and calling you out your name this is the insurance company for you. And if you enjoy being constantly lied to and promised one thing only to get something else instead this is also the insurance company which would be best for you. Can you detect the obvious sarcasm?
