In May 1932, J.W. Crews, Sr. purchased controlling interest in Wauchula State Bank and today the bank is still owned and operated by the Crews Family. Today, Wauchula State Bank is part of a four-bank holding company with total assets of more than $1.5 billion. In addition to Wauchula State Bank, Crews Banking Corporation owns Charlotte State Bank & Trust, Englewood Bank & Trust and Crews Bank & Trust. Each bank has its own president and decisions are made locally in each of these markets. J.W. Bill Crews Jr. serves as Chairman for Crews Banking Corporation and Vice Chairman for Wauchula State Bank, with his grandson, J.W.
