This is probably my favorite restaurant in Sarasota (I count Columbia in Tampa) and is marked not just by excellent food and a fantastic revolving wine selection but a true unique and fun experience and singular personality in head chef Giuseppe. This is very much a person-driven establishment and you can't walk through the doors here and not feel that you have made a new friend in Giuseppe and had some laughs and learned something about Italian food. Oh Mamma Mia's also offers great cooking classes and, even if you don't want to take a class, sitting in the second dining room gives you great views of the kitchen and food preparation. They also are heavily involved in local charities. Fantastic and unique experience. And definitely take his wine recommendations!
