Takes time but staff is very patient and helpful. Make sure you have at least 4-5 hours. Other days might be quicker, depending on how many people come that day.

This is the worst consulate in the entire world. I send my birth certificate there to be sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jamaica to get an Apostille. I follow the instructions on the website and sent it to them with all the supporting papers including a money order for $30.00. It was received by a person by the name of Hilton on the 27 of February, until this day my documents have not reach the MFAT in Jamaica. I have been calling the consulate for two weeks straight. I leave messages at extension 223. I sent an email. No one answers, no one returns my calls or respond yo my email. I was told by an official in the ministry of foreign and trade. That the best I can do is leave from Texas and go to Miami to check on my documents and pay the $30.00 . She said she dont know what to tell me. She said I should not have sent a money order. But instead I should have paid cash. Wonder how I am suppose to do that from Texas. This is the worst consulate in the world. How can no one answer a phone or return a call with a message at a consulate that is supposed to serve the Jamaicans living in the United States. I have now accepted that my birth certificate is lost with all other supporting documents. Its a disgrace. They dont even deserve a one star.
