Got a "deal" on hotwire. They advertise "Unlimited Miles - limits for locals". Locals get 100 miles per day and 25 cents per mile. Most are going to see the "Unlimited Miles, as I did". When you attempt to cancel and go to a rental dealer with better terms, HOTWIRE is NON refundable. Also make sure you return full of gas or it's $9.99 a gallon.

Do NOT waste your time at this company. They were extremely rude from beginning to end of this ordeal. They tried to charge me extra because I showed up at 10:30 instead of 10. (I wasn’t flying the plane, yo!) They then told me that since I had full coverage insurance, the deposit would only be $100. Fooled ya...it’s $200. But they couldn’t tell me why. They then proceeded to tell me that they didn’t have a car for us. This was the most unorganized, unprofessional transaction I have ever conducted. If you’re listening Ace, you’ve got a lot of work to do when it comes to customer service.

I would certainly recommend ACE Rent A Car at their Highpoint location, just south of the St Petersburg Clearwater PIE Airport. Not only are the staff friendly, professional, and efficient, they contact you by text to confirm your reservation several hours before pickup and ask if you wish to extend your return date on the final day. The prices are reasonable and the cars are well maintained and look like new even at 10,000 miles. They allow reservations without the need for your credit card information up front, and also take debit cards with a security deposit applied to your bank account. Many rental agencies will not honor debit cards, no matter how much money is in your bank account.

Ace rental car, also known as Economy Rent a car, has got to be the worst experience I have ever had regarding rental cars. Recently, 10/17/2019, and my wife and I decided to rent a car from ACE rent a car, being that we are local, and wanted to drive to Key West, we rented a compact car for three days. When I arrived at the location I was greeted and asked for my ID and credit card, I was asked if I had a return airline ticket and when I told the staff member no, I was local, I was informed that she could not rent to me because I was local. (Please keep in mind that I requested this car from Expedia 1 month ago) I then asked her if I was still able to get a car, and the sales clerk told me no, because I didn’t have a return ticket, meaning airline ticket, and that she was not able to rent to me. Because of this, I had to find another rental car agency, at the last minute, putting extra work, and stress in addition to the stress I already had. I will say this, please do not use Ace Rent-A-Car, go to the airport and use any of the other ones that are located in the St. Petersburg, Florida airport you will get better service and a nice car.
