Their practices seem dishonest. A lot of fluff/runaround. I won't be using them, nor would I recommend them.

I'm sure they're a great solution for simple or low-cost work, but they're not exactly unbiased. As someone that has written scientific reports for over 8 years, it is evident that they interject opinion through their reporting. Be aware that if someone owns a side project or is trying to build something online, they will take it out of context with no recourse to the victims. There is no formal certification for something like this so you're just paying someone for their input and then trusting it more than the people you're hiring. I wouldn't recommend SmartStart for anything more than a simple credit check. I have killed myself for my industry for many years and I was met with egregious and incompetent questions and behavior. Pray you avoid them.

Company refuses to pay past due invoices. We've been trying to collect on overdue invoices since 2018. Every time we contact them, William asks us for a copy of the invoice, assures us it will be paid, and then never does. Bad way to do business!

They did good work for us till we switched vendors and tried to hire them again for background screenings and they sent an email telling me that due to prior incidents they have decided not to do business with us. When I asked for specifics none were given. Bad way to do business guys...
