I recently purchased a home built by Meritage 4 years ago. There is a 10 year structural warranty and I contacted them to make a claim about some crumbling concrete around the foundation which now is exposing rebar and other metal which is showing signs of rusting. My home inspector recommended this be fixed as soon as possible as the rusting metal will become compromised in the long term. They suspect that the concrete was likely pulled off when molds holding the concrete in place was removed by the builder. Meritage told me that this is not "structural" in nature so they would not be able to patch these for us and sent me a homeowners maintenance guide to "help me out". Not sure what their warranty actually covers. Definitely wouldn't recommend purchasing a Meritage home.

BE AWARE: A gravel mining operation is scheduled to begin just east of Harvest Junction in 2020, and could last 10 years or more. And RECOMMENDED, check BBB for Meritage Homes reviews.
