Holiday Inn & Suites Durango Downtown, an IHG Hotel

Dude at the front desk was such a creep. Thankfully the buger joint next door helped getting through the weird check in experience.

Lots of issues. Key cards randomly worked, it is NOT a downtown hotel, bathroom door slams into main door when opening. Shower was abysmal and cold in the morning and temperature could not be controlled in the room. Only 1 elevator working. Staff was less than interested in any of these issues and the morning of was dismissed with a "we'll have someone look into [problems]" reply. Won't be back, feel ripped-off.

We arrived Saturday March 31, 2024 and the man at the reception was the worst, not even a welcome, bad face, not friendly, and very curt. We feel DISCRIMINATED because of our color and nationality. We were waiting for 30 minutes because there was no one at the desk, I don't know where he was, until he finally appeared. They charged us 10 dollars for parking. We are members and only in this hotel do we stay within the country and in Mexico. When we made the reservation they told us that breakfast was free, when we went they wanted to charge us for breakfast that was another mishap, until the end they gave the coupons and the women were just as reluctant. Apparently they are people who are not trained to deal with clients. Unfortunately we don't take the names. We will definitely not return to this hotel.

Our favorite place to stay in Durango and we were pleasantly surprised to see they recently completed a full room renovation! Beautiful, functional and inviting rooms (some with a fireplace). Great staff and a perfect location close to downtown with convenient highway access. Nice to have a restaurant and bar onsite too. Thank you Holiday Inn Durango Downtown team! We will be back.
