When we purchased our house 16 years ago I was thrilled that it came with a gas fireplace in the kitchen. I cant believe that I tolerated the quirkiness of this amenity for so long. From leaning over onto my knees to turn on the gas, to hoping the flame would actually ignite. Finally this year the mechanics I would go through to obtain the warming flame stopped working. The fireplace was dead. We deserved better ! I started my search for the latest technology in fireplaces. Surely there was something better than what I had been living with for so long. After researching local fireplace providers, I selected a company and made the call. The owner of the company seemed very happy to visit my home for an inspection. Fall was here and fireplace season was quickly approaching. He arrived as planned a week later and after an inspection and discussion regarding potential solutions, he stated that he would provide a written proposal within 4 days. The deadline arrived and after experiencing 3 weeks of unreturned phone calls to the owner of the company, I decided it was time to move on. Next I made a trip to the showroom of Fireplace Warehouse to view the potential possibilities. The process began again, but this time when the technician came to the house, he mentioned that they worked with a specialty group capable of addressing all the issues involved with replacing the fireplace unit in my 128 year old home. Finally there was hope. I was contacted several days later by Mr. Kevin Fields of Stewart Remodel, a locally owned full service remodeling and design contractor. I quickly learned that Kevin had years of experience in the fireplace industry and he had also assembled a team of true artisans to carry out the task at hand. This included framers, electricians, gas line specialists, brick masons, and clean up crew. I had previously selected a 30,000 btu unit for my kitchen, but Kevin quickly pointed out that a smaller unit would work better for the kitchen. He stated that part of joy of owning a gas fireplace was viewing the flames. The larger unit would require the flame height to be decreased because of the heat output. This saved me money and made perfect sense. The bid and contract were prepared and accepted and a timeline was defined regarding each task. As a retired banker with years of experience dealing with construction loans and contractors this was in my estimation a Gold Standard Event. Kevin was in constant communication regarding when workers would be arriving and what I could expect. He made countless trips to our home assisting with the installation and managing the project. My wife and I are overwhelmed at how smoothly the process went and we know this would not have been possible without the direction and expertise of Kevin Fields. We love our new fireplace. Its beautiful and being able to push a button on a remote to not only heat our formerly cold kitchen, but to enjoy the ambiance of the flames on a cold Colorado morning is heaven. Thank you Kevin. Stewart Remodel Design built a fireplace for us in lightening time. The pricing was fair, and they treated our home with care. Im so impressed with the outcome. I hope to use them again in the future to put one in the master bedroom. They handled the project from start to finish with speed and expertise and they are super friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend!

To be clear, Stewart Remodeling did design and build for a basement wet bar for us. Top notch work by the entire team! From responsive design work to keeping us informed about the schedule, from prep work to clean up, they were a great partner in the project. I always want to be clear -- these guys and gals could take your "I don't really know what I want, but make it happen..." walk-in customer and still do great things -- but I guarantee that will take a lot of time and probably some expensive change orders. However, we came in with a pretty good idea of what we wanted, and Stewart delivered exactly what we brought to them. We wanted to drive the bus on the project, and they let us do that, gently guiding us through all of those little decisions (where do you want this light? will that open to the right or left?) without losing sight of the big idea. At the end, the project turned a truly blank slate in our basement into a great wet bar, storage and display cabinets, and family games area. They delivered on time, did quality work (and fixed anything that didn't meet our expectation for quality), and were a pleasure to work with. Bring them a good idea, they'll make it great.
