Months into a frustrating and disappointing search for a home builder, my husband and I were delighted to find Elk Ridge Custom Homes. We were impressed from our very first lively meeting and we are still wildly grateful for having contracted Phil and Jason to build our retirement home. After living in our home for more than a year, we still wake up every morning, happy, comfortable and confident that our house will outlast the extreme elements of mountain living. Phil and Jason had the technical strengths and experience to understand the demands of and build the details of our architects meticulous and carefully-engineered plans. Our own ideas were given respect and attention during planning meetings. After discussing the budget, Elk Ridge impressed us with creative and innovative design modifications that retained all of the key architectural elements and energy-efficiency, while lowering the total costs to fit our bottom line. We broke ground just as the COVID pandemic hit. Phil and Jason continually had to adapt to worsening supply chain and sub-contractor issues. In fact, they were absolute warriors on our behalf every step of the way. They maintained excellent quality control during the entire timeline of the build, especially with the unglamorous, yet critical, details of insulation, plumbing, septic and electrical systems. The interior finishes reflect their high standards as well. Each room in the home has unique and delightful special details. Building a custom home is never a process for the faint of heart; the real world inevitably has setbacks and unforeseen problems. Phil and Jason communicated these issues in a timely way and were transparent during the whole building adventure. All problems were resolved to our complete satisfaction. We are very grateful for their remarkable diligence, honesty and good humor, and highly recommend their expertise. We used Elk Ridge Custom homes to build our custom home while we lived in another state. They did an excellent job keeping us informed with the progress and did a great job communicating with us as the home was built. Their team has a high attention to detail, and caught many things that would have been issues before they actually occurred.
