Horton & Converse Pharmacy

They are an ultra-efficient pharmacy. I’ve never had to wait more than 25 minutes. They’re willing to call. The fact that this small chain is more efficient and more helpful than chains makes me not want to go anywhere else. Also, their candy collection is off the hook. Very recommended!

I've been using Horton & Converse as my pharmacy since moving to SoCal from Chicago in August of 2016. Obviously, I had plenty of choices when picking my new pharmacy. I live in Playa Vista & work in Santa Monica, so I wanted my pharmacy to be in either of those locations, or somewhere along my route to & from work. After my first visit with my doctor, I asked him if he had any recommendations for a pharmacy & he mentioned that he likes the "mom 'n pop" feel for a pharmacy, something we didn't have much of in Chicago. He rattled a few names off & I did some Googling from there. Luckily, the first one I landed on was H&C's. This location is on the corner of Santa Monica Blvd & 20th Street, which is within the St. John's hospital complex. The parking can be difficult & that's really the only negative. There's a large garage attached to the structure, however it's typically very full, & it's cash only. I try to always find street parking, which can be difficult at times. 21st Street has meter parking & is typically very full. I tend to just park on Broadway (also meter), however I can typically find a spot. As for the pharmacy itself... They are always extremely friendly & helpful. Since it's connected to the health complex, it can get busy during peak hours, yet it never seems to rattle the staff. I don't think I've ever waited longer than 15min to get my Rx filled, and it's typically less than 10min. They always greet me with a smile & answer any questions I might have without rushing me through the door. They really treat you like you're their only customer, unlike some of the major chains, who can make you feel like you're just a dollar sign. If you're looking for a new pharmacy, I highly recommend Horton & Converse. They won't let you down!
