Over the past 7 years, our two daughters have been with the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Cupertino managed by instructors- Ms Alice (Cupertino Center) and Ms Marianne (Sunnyvale Center).
Ms Alice is passionate about ensuring that the students have a solid understanding of the foundational math concepts. I say that out of my own personal experience.
I know because of the Kumon Math Program, our older one was always placed in an advanced math course(s) in Middle and High school. They constantly encouraged our daughter to maintain a Kumon routine (like brushing your teeth everyday) despite her school work load and a very hectic after-school competitive synchro swim schedule. They worked very closely with our daughter to adjust her Kumon work as and when needed.Thanks to their constant encouragement and personal attention,ourolder onecompleted all of the Kumon Math levels by the time she started her High School sophomore year.
Now I see the same level of commitment to our younger one (In 6th grade - middle school). My younger one has tried to quit a few times, especially when she is moved to the next math level. Each time, Ms Alice will take out a considerable amount of time to speak with our younger one to assess the root cause and then find a creative way to create a win-win option.

There are many teachers who can speak in Chinese and all of them are very nice. They will call you when your kid missing homework. Also they are willing to give praise when your kid making progress. A very good Kumon center and lots of parking places.
