Luz Hotel

Went on my first Solo trip to San Francisco and had such a pleasant stay. Owner was very kind and accommodating when my flight was delayed and already arriving late at night. This place is perfect if you coming for quick trip, it was affordable and convenient. I would 100% book again whenever i have a trip back to San Francisco. Thank you!

OK, this place has gone through quite a transition from the covid 19 pandemic. I guess at some point the city housed the homeless here. Much of the furniture, walls and other furnishings were broken or destroyed during that time. Now things are beginning to normalize as the owner has done quite a few repairs and upgrades. The staff at the Luz is personable and will bend over backwards for it's guests. If you are visiting San Francisco I would recommend the hotel but not the neighborhood although this is the same street shared by high end hotels and Broadway shows. The Luz is a safe inexpensive alternative with a friendly staff that will make every effort to make you comfortable and content. Clean inexpensive rooms. Shared bathroom and shower. Personable staff.

Owners and managers are very accommodating, they were able to check us in when our flight was delayed. Staffs are friendly and gave us tips during our stay. Rooms was a bit small than expected but like the personal sink and bed is comfortable. Shared bathrooms are always clean.

A budget hotel with friendly and helpful staff. They waited up and maintained comms when my plane was delayed. The rooms are well past their refurb date but everything works and is kept clean, although the hallway carpet looks a bit grim at first glance. Fresh robes are provided for visiting the shared bathrooms which are well tiled and maintained. Albert, the friendly concierge, plied me with oatmeal, apple and cinnamon breakfasts gratis, because he enjoys being generous. Rosa also was a gracious host. Walk straight down Geary to Union Square if you want to avoid the sights of the Tenderloin.
