image Scam!! Call your insurance company first. I received a bill 4 years after date of service, showing I owe a balance of almost 300 bucks. I called my insurance company first and they were able to send over my explanation of benefits. This showed how much my insurance company paid and that there was a zero balance for the patient. I called ASMG and after explaining this to the customer service rep, I was put on hold for less than 30 seconds before he came back and said it shows a zero balance owed. How strange that I just received an invoice. Also the invoice shows all kinds of adjustments (probably to make it more confusing). When I ask my insurance provider if there was adjustments on their end, they said no. They just sent one check and that was that. If it showed all these adjustments in ASMG's system, I don't know how the customer service rep could tell me I have a zero balance due that quickly.

image Called them to set up a payment plan and was greeted by the lady going off on me in regards to why I'm responsible for that payment and if I have questions to contact my insurance. I told her I was calling to set up a payment plan and didn't appreciate her rudeness. We set up a payment plan as I no longer have insurance so I didn't know if it was worth fighting or not. I don't understand the need to be so rude when someone is calling about their account. Not even a greeting was received.

image This is a review of the medical billing process with ASMG:I had medical coverage for most of the anesthesia service, but still had about $200 to pay out-of-pocket.  I received their paper bill in the mail and paid $60.00 online, intending to make two more payments. Here's their unethical trick: The two-sided paper bill has the summary and balance due, but the back side of the bill shows FINANCE CHARGES cleverly placed. I couldn't find anywhere on the bill, or their website, that finance charges would be incurred if the bill was not paid in full. So... I called their billing office and complained about this, and the finance charges were then dropped. Hey, patients are recovering from surgery and shouldn't be burdened with the stress of disguised finance charges in their bill. If you read this review, complain to their customer service (858)244-0110 if you need to.

image Several delays with billing ... It took a month and several phone calls to resolve. It Should have been resolved within days of surgery - but took a month and several calls - asking for the same information....
Frustrating... Recommended they put something in place to address this - even in they are under going some software changes ....
Unrelated issue - it took 3 weeks for throat pain to resolve following surgery - not my first surgery - but by far the most difficult anesthesia issue - For over 2 weeks I could barely swallow.

image This office operates like a scam. Getting billed and paying your bill feels like a phishing scam. The bill comes with no explanation of services rendered or why you are being charged months after you paid a bill to your hospital or doctor's office that already included anesthesia charges. I called twice asking for an itemized bill that spelled out my charges and did not receive it despite being promised it was, "in the mail". I did however receive new bills with interest charges because I hadn't paid my initial bill. I never received an itemized bill in the end and I and my insurance paid hundreds of dollars to ASMG and I still don't know why. On top of all that their online payment portal was down so I had to use my credit card over the phone adding to the sense that this whole business is a scam.
