Benchmark Oakland

Really nice pizza and pasta spot right on 9th Street. Funky old building with some great interior features, and the lunch menu was very complete with apps, mains as well as cocktails. Everyone in our good sized party love the food, especially the butternut squash soup and pizza dishes. Service was very solid, and while it was not cheap it was a good value for what you get. Overall I would not hesitate to recommend this for a great lunch spot.

We had to find a last minute alternative to the spot we originally planned to eat. All were pleasantly surprised. Try the rosemary and brown butter pizza.

Good fried sage pizza with sausage. Pizza easily feeds 2 or 3 , and large Ceasar salad feeds 2 or 3 as a first be course. Service good. Bar atmosphere. Small restaurant so reservations recommended. Limited street parking. Easy walk about 2 blocks from the Oakland Courtyard Marriott hotel.

Great vibes, fast service, fair prices... I had a cute red head as a date and everything felt right.
