This is a popular and busy cafe! I came here with friends for coffee & desserts. But I did notice a lot of people coming here to eat PRO: - Lots of places to sit - Good (not bitter) strong cappuccino - Rich chocolate layer cake CON: - Does seem more of a eatery than a bakery/cafe (was hoping for more desserts). SUMMARY: Great place to meet up with friends to catch up. Would like to comment on the food but only did desserts and coffee which was nice.

Unfortunately the counter service has really gone downhill. I've been going here for years. Recent example of poor service: last week a service screw-up not only impacted me, but 3 other guests I brought with me. No apologies from the wait staff. One hour to get a simple order fixed. Specifics: Last week I placed an order to go in person at the counter, paid for it, and waited. And waited. And waited. Half an hour later I asked where my order was. The wait staff hadn't issued the order to the kitchen despite my having paid for it with a card which means the order is in their system. After 10 minutes, they found my order and "expedited" the order. 20 minutes later I got it. Total elapsed time: 1 hour. The 3 other people I was with waited patiently the entire time. I was very courteous to the wait staff. No appology from the wait staff for an obvious error by them. Astoundingly bad customer service.

Cafe Borrone is a very nice place to have a cup of coffee and a dessert.
