This facility is absolutely horrible. All of their 5 star reviews are by their staff members which is against google guidelines. They have had real reviews removed that were not in their favor. If they are willing to break the guidelines on reviews imagine what they are willing to do in their treatment center. Stay clear of this place!!

Someone very close to me used this treatment center after doing much research on different places. We decided on Summit for him because not only is the center beautiful but every single person we encountered that works there was incredible. From the first phone calls to the daily interactions, we were impressed with all of it. They truly put their clients’ best interests first and have a heart for their struggles and recovery. I can’t say enough good things about this place. He’s had a very successful recovery thanks to Summit, and I’m happy there are choices out there like this place. The place is clean, staff is helpful and competent, and the program as a whole is really top notch.

It may be hard to believe, but the month I spent at Summit was one of the best months of my life. I firmly believe that without the loving support of the staff and excellent clinical team, I wouldn't be alive today. Steven proved to be an indispensable source of strength and encouragement, as he is the person who gave me the courage to come to Summit. If he had not done my intake, there is no way I would have come to the program. He gave me hope and courage, while reassuring me that the experience was exactly what I needed to have a chance at a new lease on life. He was correct. The facility itself is gorgeous, and I highly suggest you do everything in your power to secure a solo room for yourself. The chef Mark makes food that is unbelievably delicious while still healthy. Suzy is the sweetest woman and so incredibly patient. She still reaches out to check on me. I can't speak highly enough of the staff, from playing frisbee and going to meetings with Kyle, to good conversation with JoJo. Oh, and Cory’s cookies!!! I could go on forever. Thank you, to everyone at Summit, for saving my life and bringing so much joy into what was a dark time for me. I will forever hold you near and dear to my heart!

Firstly, I want to note that my experience with Summit Malibu is not from a patient standpoint. I had reached out just to expand my knowledge about the industry, as the company I work for is beginning to serve others within the industry. Rebecca was very prompt in her response and gave me a number to call. For over 10 minutes, she answered every question I had in detail was so kind in the process. She was incredibly generous with her time when I am sure she had so many other responsibilities to take care of. I can only imagine the level of care their members must receive when seeking treatment. Thank you for all you do in such a vital industry and helping families deal with the ravages of addiction. Summit Malibu is not just a beautiful center, but it employs kind, caring, and genuine employees.

I don't know where to start. From day one, the staff treated me great. There's Don who's the sweetest guy ever and Scott who is all around amazing. Scott takes great care of the clients and makes sure your needs are met, by any means. I admitted myself into Summit Malibu for help. Talked to Steven who was very understanding and extremely cool. He didn't try and sell me on this place. He made it clear from the start what to expect and what they have to offer. It was my choice after that. Never felt that way talking to an admissions director ever. So I decided to go with Summit after weighting other options. I checked in a week before Thanksgiving, with reservations of waiting until after the holidays so I wasn't away from my family. Little did I know, there was a second family waiting for me at Summit. The staff there are great. Scott treated me like a brother. Don as well. Steven even met me at the facility to make sure I was comfortable. The chef is 5 star and she caters to your every need. If your gluten free, low sugar, trying to lose weight, trying to gain weight, stay healthy, detox your body, food allergies, etc- she's great. After a week of being at Summit I started to feel right at home. The staff makes sure your comfortable the entire time, but with all recovery centers, There are some things to look out for. The therapy is 2 star, there's a therapist Michelle who's the "head" therapist for whatever reason (not credential based im assuming). She makes it feel like youre talking to yourself. Very common questions and very common answers. Seems like she's just doing it for the paycheck. No soul searching or digging deep. Very surfaced therapy. If you're looking for great therapy I would seek that elsewhere. Malibu hills has a great therapy (ask for Rob). Also, I was asked to leave the facility due to a false UA ( Urinary analysis). They said I had tested positive for oxycodone and that I have to leave their facility. I asked to take another test and to see the false test bc I was so confused. They didn't want to show me the test and also said that I couldn't take another test. Shortly after this I was told to pack my bags and go elsewhere. They had called a place for me to go that was recommended by the "executive" assistant at Summit. Great! I decided to take my talents to Cliffside Malibu and they seemed to have a problem with that so they put me on the street in the dark. ON THE STREET! No medical release! NO MEDICATION! NOTHING! If you're really trying to stay sober this is a great place. I felt disrespected and pushed out. I went to a new facility and immediately took another drug test and there was no oxycodone in my system. They made a mistake and I paid for it. My mom now thinks that I was using in treatment and completely cut me off from my family. I wish it didn't happen that way but somethings happened for a reason. This is a great place with great staff. And good food. On Thanksgiving I helped wash all the dishes and went to all my meetings and made honest efforts to stay sober and the next day I was put out on the street in the dark. Thanks Michelle. No one cared that I was leaving, no one cared if I was going to be okay once that happened. Maybe it's all about money, maybe I just wasnt their cup of tea, but this place left a bitter taste in my mouth that I'll never forget. Steven the admission counselor is an amazing person and truly cares for the clients. if you need help contact Steven. He's a great person. Talk to Steven and he will make sure you're taken care of. Jessie's cool too.
